The Pavilion Room, Melbourne Arts Centre was a magnificent venue with great ambience for the AAF's inaugural Oration Dinner.
Pre Oration Dinner drinks. With 220 people, the room was buzzing with conversation with the sound of the harpist in the background.
The three course meal was just beautifully presented. Entree - Pickled Scallops or Apple cured Salmon. Main Course - 16h braised Beef ribs or Duck breast. Dessert - Lemon tart or Tiramisu.
Master of Ceremony George Donikian engaged us with his own stories. Here with AAF Founding Chair Cheri Ong and the inaugural AAF Oration dinner speaker Dr Tim Southphommasane who spoke on "The challenges for diversity in an environment of increasing populism. Where does Australia sit in this spectrum and how should Asian Australians show leadership in embracing such challenges"
